You’ve heard the name of the organization from their Tickets For Charity program, but if you don’t have the cash to get a golf tournament ticket, you can support them by participating in a simple recycling program! SAFEHOME is collecting old cell phones for the benefit of victims of domestic violence. Did you know that as many as 426,000 phones are thrown away each day? Keep these phones out of landfills and put them to a good cause by donating them to SAFEHOME! The phones will either be given to SAFEHOME clients to use in emergency situations or recycled the funds sent to SAFEHOME. The organization could receive as much as $30 per phone.
Find a participating organization to donate to on SAFEHOME’s website, or step up and start your own drive! It is simple:
- Contact SAFEHOME by calling or emailing Jan at Jan at 913.378.1511 or firstname.lastname@example.org to receive your collection kit, which includes an 8.5 x 11 poster, prepaid shipping label and shipping form, and media materials to help you advertise the drive.
- Affix the poster to a box or a container and set it up at the office for coworkers or customers to drop old phones in.
- If you collect less than 10 phones, drop them off at a SAFEHOME location, or if you have more than 10 use the prepaid label to mail them in with a shipping form that states that you want the funds from the phones to go to SAFEHOME.
Get the whole office involved to support a good cause and get rid of any old phones lying around!
