Snake Saturday Parade & Festival Near South Creek Overland Park

This March, you can celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with several different parades and events all over Kansas City!  The Snake Saturday Parade & Festival in North Kansas City is one of the first events to kick off the week of celebrations.  This particular celebratory day is also a fundraiser, and its goal is to award over $50,000 in prize monies to 50–100 local charities.

The theme of the 2012 parade is “NKC: A Century Of Home Town Pride.”  The parade will start at 11:00 a.m. on March 17, 2012, regardless of weather conditions.  If you are interested in being a part of this spectacular Irish celebration and fundraiser, you can either volunteer, enter the Parade, become a sponsor, or just go enjoy the event!

The parade route:
Starts at 14th & Swift
Travels north on Swift to Armour Road
Turns east on Armour Road to Howell Street
Turns south and ends after crossing 18th Street

The parade awards ceremony is at 3 p.m. in the North Kansas City Community Center.  The festival aspect of the event will take place from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., and features activities for people of all ages, carnival rides, food, a car show featuring over 50 race cars, a children’s square with free pony rides, petting zoo, live entertainment and much more!
