Come help support the Children’s Center for the Visually Impaired (CCVI) by participating in the 24th Trolley Run! This run, which got its name because the course follows the old trolley tracks, is the biggest timed four-mile run in the country. CCVI is an organization that serves over 350 children with different visual disabilities a year, helping them “to reach their highest potential in the sighted world.” Here are some details about the race:
When: Sunday, April 29, 2012
Where: Race starts at 75th and Wornall Rd.
Packet Pick-Up Times:
April 26 from 4 to 8 p.m.
April 27 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
April 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
(Pick-up location to be determined closer to the race day.)
Race Day Schedule:
6:00-7:30 am – late registration
7:45 am – first wave starts
8:15-11:00 am – After Bash at the Plaza
10:15 am – Kids Trolley Run starts
10:45 am – Family After Bash at Mill Creek Park
Participants run in waves assigned based on what they think their speed will be and designated by different color bandanas. The course goes through Waldo and Brookside neighborhoods to the Plaza, and transportation from the Plaza to the starting line will be available.
