Darren Sproles 5K At Southcreek Office Park

Get a little exercise and support local youth by signing up for the inaugural Darren Sproles 5K! Proceeds from this run will go the Sproles Empowered Youth Foundation, a non-profit founded by Darren and Michel Sproles that empowers underserved teenagers by teaching them life-skills that are essential to them developing into successful and responsible adults. The event will take place on Saturday, June 23rd at our very own Southcreek Office Park! Registration will get you a package that includes the following:

Harvesters No School=No Lunch Near Southcreek Office Park

37% of the hungry people Harvesters’ network of food pantries serves are kids. Help fight this problem in the Kansas City area by participating in the No School=No lunch program from June through August. Harvesters is teaming up with Price Chopper to serve kids who go hungry this summer. Over 90,000 elementary school children in the Kansas City area rely on a free school lunch as their only consistent, nutritious meal of the day. Now that school is out for the summer, these kids have to go without that resource. Here is how you can help:

Purchase coupons. At your local Price Chopper checkout counter, be on the lookout for coupons you can buy to make donations of $1, $5, or $10.
Buy “kid friendly” food items. While you are shopping, you can buy kid-friendly food items and place them in the Harvesters donation barrels located at each Price Chopper.

Last year during these summer months food donations went down by 40% during a time when kids especially need help more than ever. Help fight hunger in your community during your everyday grocery shopping!

SAFEHOME TICKETS Fore CHARITY Near Southcreek Overland Park

Planning on going to the Midwest Classic at Nicklaus Golf Club at Lionsgate in Overland Park? Why not help out a charity like SAFEHOME as you check out the PGA Tour? With TICKETS Fore CHARITY through Mr. Goodscents, you can both easily purchase online tickets and put your ticket money (at no extra cost!) towards the charity of your choice!

TICKETS Fore CHARITY was created to incorporate local communities into Midwest Classic events. All of the revenues from PGA sanctioned events are donated to local charities, and TICKETS Fore CHARITY is a program that was created to specifically help local non-profits selected by the community. When you purchase your ticket, simply select a charity that you would like to donate your ticket money to. You can also enter your own charity by uploading some information on the “Count Me In!” section of the website.

The event will be in Kansas City from August 13-19, 2012. Ticket prices are as follows:

Group 10 Pack – $200
Corporate 30 Pack – $500

The Grounds Pass allows access to the golf course and bleacher seating. Kids under the age of 14 are free if they are accompanied by adult, as well as military personnel who present their military ID. Come enjoy the event and support SAFEHOME or another charity!
